Take Action – Urgent

Published on 11/01/09

I just received the attachment from a friend. As you know, we have been very concerned with the healthcare dismantling legislation Congress has been drafting. These politicians obviously do not know that the first step in cutting medical costs is to draft sane tort reform. Also, government does not cut costs by inventing 53 new bureauacracies! Will the newly appointed Czar who will work with the Secretary of HHS in drafting all the rules and regulations be a practicing physician or a politician who never attended medical school? Voting down ALL Republican ammendments and eliminating good medical participation is not going to create better healthcare for anyone.

Our Representative Rehberg is opposed to this bill, but you Montanans need to send this to your out-of-state directory—especially those who have Democrat representatives.

Our friend also forwarded the reading guide for the house healthcare bill with specifics to check out. In researching information from the Senate site and the House site she found some information not available. She then went to several sites to complete the information gathering. This is one site she recommends that you go to and research your representative’s history and voting record you will also find information on contacting your representative in his district offices in your state. Starting on Monday and all the way up to the vote we must call and /or fax the reps and let them know how we want them to vote.

Please spread this info to as many contacts you have so they will have the list and can also contact their reps in their respective states.

WE MUST CONTACT OUR REPRESENTATIVES THROUGH PHONE AND FAX. DELIVERY OF PETITIONS AND MAIL ARE BEING DIVERTED TO ANTHRAX HOLDING WHICH WILL TAKE A MINIMUM OF 14 DAYS SO THAT THEY WILL NOT REACH OUR REPRESENTATIVES UNTIL AFTER PELOSI FORCES VOTE.

STATE REPUBLICAN CONVENTION (Report from Lake County Club)

Published on 09/05/09

LCRW members Joanne Shaw, Jan Rogers, Tracy Reiling, Janna Taylor, and Mimi and (Associate member) Irv Miheim attended the State Republican Convention in June. There was a great spirit that the GOP is alive and on the rebound! One of the most exciting booths was that of the MEA-MFT REPUBLICAN CAUCUS! If you have been tuned in to the National Education Association since the 70s, you know that it has become a mighty arm of the Democrat Party. Teachers paying dues to the NEA and its state affiliates have some of their dues going into the Democrat coffers as well as providing manpower. MEA-MFT Republican Caucus Task Force members are: Chair Cathy Kuntz, Great Falls Education Association; Karen Lewis; Retired MEA-MFT, Helena; Brad Persinger, Glasgow Education Association, and Pam Bredberg, Bozeman Education Association. If you know any Republican teachers who are tired of supporting the Democratic Party through their NEA dues, suggest that they contact MEA-MFT Republican Caucus Chair Cathy Kuntz at jkuntzfam@bresnan.net or MEA-MFT Political Director Terry Minow at tminow@mea-mft.org. 800-398-0826,or 442-4250 for more information.

Dear Republican Women,

Thank you for your willingness to support our military with a care package. Christine is from northern Montana, serving IA, Individual Augmentation, in Iraq. Depending on how quickly the priority box reaches Iraq, she may no longer be there but has requested we allow the box to be shared with her “people.” In summary, here is the plan:

The Resley insurance office, at the corner of Main and Highway 212 in Joliet, is the collection site; items should be there on or before August 28 the box will be sent August 28

Requested items include “baby wipes, laundry sheets, and anything semi-healthy to snack on such as jerky, dried fruit, granola, trail mix, nuts, and of course, you can never go wrong with sweets” plus, may I add, cocoa and remind us NO pork.

Bless you! Pat Plowman, Secretary
